We are a community with a great diversity that helps one another, guides one another & celebrates various festivals as a family. We are a platform that Happily welcomes EVERYONE who is interested in Asian culture to join our events/meetings/get-togethers.
We make sure we meet at least once a month, so that we can keep in touch with each other in this busy world & celebrate together as we don't get to do with our family often.
The purpose of this society is to interact with all students and to immerse ourselves in their cultures and traditions. Here we learn to share and care for each other and is equally important to respect other opinions.
Our Events
Diwali – Festival of Lights
The biggest event of the year! Celebrate the Festival of Lights with candle lighting, colorful activities, a photo booth, traditional food, and captivating performances. Come share in the joy and brightness of this special occasion!
Sinhala & Tamil New Year
Held every April, this cherished Sri Lankan festival marks the sun’s transition into Aries. Experience traditional performances, exciting games, and authentic Sri Lankan culture as we come together to celebrate unity and prosperity.
Freshers’ Welcome Event
An icebreaker for new RSU students! Senior students gather to welcome juniors through fun games, activities, delicious food, and performances, creating a warm and supportive start to university life.
Sports Tournament
A friendly, competitive tournament in collaboration with RSU’s Asian Society and other national societies. Students come together to play cricket, badminton, and volleyball—a great way to relax, stay active, and build friendships.
Excursion Trip
Escape the city with RSU Asian Society! Enjoy a scenic hike through lush forests, explore historical sites, and unwind by the serene beach. A perfect day to connect with nature and fellow students.
Asian Night Market
Immerse yourself in Asian traditions! Enjoy cultural performances, a photo booth with traditional attire, a language stall to write your name in different scripts, a spice challenge, henna art, rangoli design, quizzes, games, and more! Special Asian food and drinks complete the experience.
Desi Night
Feel the electrifying energy of Desi Night! Dance the night away to Bollywood, Bhangra, and Urban beats. Dress like a Bollywood star and make unforgettable memories at this glamorous celebration.
