Freshers’ Week is organized by the International Student Association (ISA) and is the perfect way to kick off your journey at RSU, It is a series of events planned to welcome new students from around the globe, this exciting week is packed with fun, engaging, and memorable events that bring the RSU community together. From friendly competitions to thrilling adventures and opportunities to explore Riga’s vibrant culture, Freshers’ Week is all about creating connections, forming lasting friendships, and making the most of your first steps as part of the RSU family.

Get ready for an unforgettable week ahead!

Start your journey with Bowling Night

Freshers’ Week begins on Tuesday, 28 January, with an exciting Bowling Night at the Pepsi Centre. From 18:00 to 20:00, you will get to know your colleagues for the following years in RSU! Participation is €5 (online payment only).

Unleash your inner detective: Scavenger Hunt

Get ready for an exciting challenge on Thursday, 30 January, with the highly anticipated Scavenger Hunt taking place at the RSU Main Building. It begins at 17:00 and lasts until 19:00, as teams of students come together to solve riddles, and unravel clues hidden around the campus. This engaging activity not only provides a fun way to explore the university but also helps you bond with fellow students in a collaborative and exciting atmosphere.

Dive into Riga’s nightlife: Riga Night Out (18+)

On Friday, 31 January, experience the vibrant energy of Riga Night Out, one of the most popular events of Freshers’ Week. Starting at 18:30 from the iconic Laima Clock, this guided tour through Riga’s nightlife promises an evening of fun, friendship, and adventure. Students will visit some of the city’s most exciting venues, with the €16 ticket (cash only) including a complimentary drink in each stop. Whether you’re new to Riga or already familiar with the city, this event is the perfect way to immerse yourself in its electric nightlife and have fun with your new colleagues.

Finish on a high note: Laser Tag

Freshers’ Week concludes with Laser Tag session on Saturday, 1 February, at the adrenaline-pumping Laserdog arena. The event kicks off at 18:00 and continues into the evening, providing students with an unforgettable opportunity to showcase their strategic skills in an exciting, team-based competition. Tickets cost €10 (payment online only) and promise hours of fun, laughter, and camaraderie. It’s the perfect way to wrap up a week full of unforgettable memories and friendships.
