"How to" Series
“How To” series is a collection of events aimed at guiding students through crucial aspects that are part of our path in RSU. These sessions bring together students and tutors to provide support, answer questions, and share valuable advice on topics like: how to use myRSU platform, how to prepare for the state exam, how to do your placement in different countries, and how to start your thesis and research projects.
How to Student & myRSU
Starting you university life can be daunting, especially when you need to learn how to work with a new system. The "How to Student and myRSU" event is made especially for first-year students, or any students who feels unsure about using myRSU platform. During this session our tutors and experienced students walk you through the platform, including:
- How to access your course schedule and announcements.
- Submitting assignments and tracking grades.
- Check your finances, printing service and transportation subsidy.
- Learn essential student life tips, for example: time management and access support services.
How to State Exam
Preparing for the State Exam can be one of the most stressful parts of university, marking the final stage of each student's degree. At this event, you will have the chance to meet tutors and alumni who have successfully passed their exams. The "How To State Exam" session offers invaluable insights:
- Structuring your study schedule.
- Understanding the format and expectations of the State Exam.
- Handling nerves and staying focused under pressure.

How to Placement
The "How to Placement" event is designed to help you navigate the application process, not only in Latvia but all over the world. Securing a placement is a critical step in building your professional experience and future career.
During this session, alumni and other experienced students that have done their placement will guide you through:

- Leveraging university resources and networks to find opportunities.

How to Thesis & Research
The thesis is often the most demanding academic challenge in a student's life but it is also a chance to delve deep into a topic you are passionate about. The "How to Thesis & Research" event explains you all the processes you need to follow and sets you up for success. Topics include:
- Choosing a research topic and formulating your thesis question.
- Structuring and writing your thesis step by step.
- Conductive effective research and citing sources correctly.
- Collaborating with your supervisor for guidance and feedback throughout the process.
