The Anaesthesiology, Intensive- & Emergency Care Society
ASAIC was created in September 2018 as the Academic Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care. In September 2021, emergency medicine was added to our fields of interest, as we believe these fields of medicine to be strongly related. Thus, ASAIC became ASAIEC!
ASAIEC’s main goal is to promote anaesthesiology, intensive, and emergency medicine to interested students. We achieve this by organizing theoretical and practical meetings covering a variety of topics. For our theoretical meetings, we use peer-to-peer teaching under the supervision of our mentors, allowing students to develop and refine their presentation skills. Our practical sessions focus on essential life-saving skills, such as airway management and advanced life support. Additionally, we provide hands-on experience in procedures like FAST-scans, arterial line placement, and MASCAL (mass casualty) scenarios, ensuring students gain valuable exposure to real-world emergency situations.
We welcome any student interested in these fields, regardless of their semester. Join us and learn how to manage a critical patient in any circumstance. Follow our social media to stay informed about upcoming events, and don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or ideas of your own!
