The Academic Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ASOG)
The Academic Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ASOG) is a student-led academic society.
We organise *monthly theoretical, practical and clinical meetings* covering a wide range of topics in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. During theoretical meetings, active members prepare and present clinically relevant topics, gaining experience in scientific communication, clinical presentations, and public speaking.
Our practical and clinical sessions allow students to develop hands-on clinical skills and gain exposure to real-world Ob/Gyn practice. These sessions are often held across several settings, including the *Medical Education Technology Centre (METC), Riga Maternity Hospital, and Riga East Clinical University Hospital*.
ASOG also creates opportunities for students to engage beyond regular meetings, including our well-known Baltic Student Conference of Obstetrics and Gynecology, collaborative events, and research-related activities, allowing members to broaden their experience within the field.
Students can join ASOG as Active or Passive:
- Active membership applications open at the beginning of each semester.
- Passive members are welcome to attend our meetings, discussions, and activities throughout the academic year.
